GBTA, ITM Plan Symposium For Charity Travel Buyers

The Global Business Travel Association and the UK’s Institute of Travel & Meetings are collaborating on the creation of a symposium for humanitarian travel buyers and suppliers that will take place on June 28-29 at St. Ermins Hotel in London. Issues to be addressed will include airline fare management, alternative accommodation inventory and risk/duty of care.

London was selected as the location of the event, says Simone Buckley, ITM’s CEO, because the UK market “has one of the largest concentrations of charities, all of which spend lots of time and money on global travel.” Organizers say they expect about 60 delegates from around the world to attend.

St. Ermins Hotel is providing space for the event, which has also received support from the GBTA Foundation. In addition, the Foundation will conduct a research focus group on the afternoon of the event with a core buyer group.
